A wrong payslip is not a bug, it is a breach of trust
Everything else in HR software can be improved next quarter. Pay has to be right the
first time, in public, in front of the person it belongs to. So the payroll engine
gets the paranoid treatment, and we publish a calculator you can check us with.
Statutory rules belong in data
Putting a contribution rate in code means a release to change it, a second codebase
when a second country arrives, and a payslip that silently restates itself when a
rate moves. Rules as versioned rows fixes all three at once.
Security is a claim you should be able to test
“Enterprise-grade” means nothing. What means something is a specific statement —
tenant separation is enforced by the database, a manager cannot read a report’s
national identity number — which a reviewer can sit down and try to break.
Saying “not yet” beats approximating
We would rather tell you a country is not live, or that you would be better served
elsewhere, than produce a number we cannot stand behind. The alternative is finding
out together, later, with someone’s salary in the middle of it.
