What does that salary actually cost?

Pick a country, set a gross salary, and see every statutory deduction, how the tax is derived band by band, and what the employee actually receives — alongside what the role costs you once employer contributions are added.

Total employer cost

Employer contributions sit on top of salary and never come out of the employee’s pay. Budget from this figure, not from gross.

An estimate on employment income against the statutory rules shown, for the current tax year. It does not know about other income, salary structure choices, or personal reliefs beyond those noted. Confirm any figure you intend to rely on.

Why trust this one

Most salary calculators quietly skip a step.

The common shortcut is to apply tax bands straight to gross pay. In most countries that is wrong: social contributions come off first, and tax is calculated on what remains — sometimes with a cap on how much is deductible. Skip it and you overstate someone’s tax, and understate their take-home, by a meaningful amount every month.

This calculator does not skip it, because it is the same logic that produces real payslips in the product. When we found that exact bug in our own Cyprus engine, the correction was about €120 a month on a mid-range salary. That is the size of the mistake sitting in a lot of spreadsheets.

About the numbers

What this does and does not know.

Is this accurate enough to quote a candidate?

For gross-to-net on standard employment income, yes — it is the same engine that produces the payslip they will later receive, which is the whole point. For a final figure on an offer letter, have your accountant confirm it, because personal circumstances can move it.

What is not included?

Other income, investment declarations, regime elections, and country-specific allowances that depend on the individual rather than the salary. Where a country has a common structural assumption — such as basic pay as a proportion of gross — it is stated on the result rather than hidden.

Do you store what I type?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and there are no analytics on this page.

How current are the rates?

They track the current tax year and are updated when a government revises them. The product versions rules by year, so a payslip produced last year keeps last year’s rules rather than being retroactively recalculated.

My country is not in the list.

Then it is not live, and we will say so rather than approximate. Select it and leave an email — we will tell you honestly whether it is worth your while waiting.
